Hello everybody, and welcome to very special bonus action coming right at you from triple advantage. Today we have your regular crew back at you again, Braden Jordan and myself, Carlos, and joined today we have a special guest, Bradley. The reason Bradley is here is why we're dropping this bonus action in the first place. Royal City Society has created a new class for you guys to play in Your v Games. So, Bradley, without further Ado, what didn't you tell us a little bit about? The Arcane Blade? So the Arcane Blade is a class that's kind of inspired by mixing magic and sword play, as well as using elements to deal damage. And where did you get a little bit of inspiration from this, as this, like I've seen...

...some of this before, like you have, like some more wizards, some was like imbewing runs and whatnot, or is it more so pure arcane energy being fed into these weapons? Video Games, that kind of stuff? Some of the abilities were definitely inspired from video games, like dark souls, the black serpent spell and final fantasy. So when you see so, when you see yourself playing as this class, kind of what kind of hero do you do you picture kind of like a fighter, but you have like lightning crackling down your blade or that kind of thing, just raw power with magic and...

...sword combined. Can you tell us a little bit about the main features that define this class, something that stands out to you guys in general about it? I mean, you guys are the ones that work on us for the most and I'll sort of open up the Florida everybody to jump in here, but what are some most features of this class? You guys are super excited about it. Sure so. The main features of this class are the elemental blade and the stances. Both are developed in first level of the class. The elemental blade, as it suggests, allows a character to imbew their sword with a form of elemental magic, such as five or lightning or cold damage, that kind of thing, and that blade will serve as your main weapon throughout the entire as you develop this character. Then the stances is the other...

...key part of this class. The stances are a way for your character to develop as a fighter. Essentially, it sets you up to act in a particular way or to have your character stand in a way that would allow you to act either defensively or offensively, or it kind of. It feels like, you know, if a person were to learn a particular type of fighting style but not be, you know, the fighting style found in d DF, I be right. It would look like that. So you'd set yourself up and then you would do a particular set of moves that that helps you cleave through enemies or protect certain people or that kind of thing. So these stances are what are going to you can choose them kind of as you enter combat and then you can change it up as you go throughout the battle.

So allows a little bit more fluidity there. I really like that too, because I find that it allows a player to be a little bit more malleable in calm bad as well. You can serve different roles as needed. Right. Yeah, I'll jump in on the stance point and say that I'm also incredibly excited for that future. Specifically, I've been played testing this class a little bit in a small campaign that our friend Matt is running, and it just like it feels fresh. Disability, there's a lot of times you'll play a new subclass or a class it's like, Oh yeah, yeah, this is I kind of get how this works. It feels similar to this. So I can kind of incorporate my previous knowledge stances through me. Right for loop, I was I was like I was trying to figure that out. I was trying to quickly adapt to okay, so this is the best for this situation. Now I'm going to switch off to this because I'm planning on doing this. It allows such a wide range of versatility in just how you play your turns. So it gives it gives you an opportunity to kind of...

...think through your turns a bit more in Khan. How do I optimize this? How do I get the best turn that I can have out of these dances? And it just like it's something that I really haven't seen in a class or a subclass so far. It's weird and incredibly refreshing to actually have to stop and go like I really don't understand this ability right off the bat, like I've got to actually take some time and assess it out and feel how it goes. All right, right, and as this class the develop, what kind of abilities are you? Are you expecting to see as a player, as in again just like level progression and a future Featsen or I see that you can be a spell caster as well. Yes, so the elemental, or the Arkham bladom sorry, is a half caster. So the idea that you are a a melee fighter with some kind of melee proficiency,...

...but you do also have innate spell casting abilities and these let you to a certain extent, trade off between spell casting in melee abilities. But the thing that I like most about this class that it blends the two of them right together. So you have almost spell casting through your malee abilities. Are Spell casting to aid your malee abilities, and that the very edges of level. I see you have sold eater as a level twenty feet. It sounds intense, so let me read it out to the audience. Here. It says a twenty level, the dark energy around your blade can become so potent that it can rip up a soul from a target creature. What. What is this? So That's level twenty. Ability is specific to the NECRO blades sub class and act. I think we should probably turn it over to Bradley and let him explain the three subclasses that we got going on in this class.

All right, so you got the blade master, the elementalist and the NECRO blade. So the blade master is kind of someone who focuses on their meal, the abilities and that kind of thing, and the elementalist focuses on all of the elements and the necro blade has the ability to use their elemental blade to use necrotic damage instead, and they get some extra spells as well. And I see you can definitely tell the differences between these. What are the the subclasses themselves? Right, I see that at the very core of it...

...you guys have some sort of spell casting focus within the abilities as well, because I notice here, for example, with the blade master, the Focus Blade is very reminiscent of a power Lord kill on an attack. Yes, so again very very strong stuff here. It looks really exciting. What kind of characters have you guys thought of with this class? Any anything particularly that you might want to try running? I'm really excited to dive into character creation for this just because I think that each subclass that you have available to you with this class allows for kind of a different slant on the traditional character trope. Yeah, class an, exactly. The classes a whole is very heroic based. Looking back on the Lord's the theme of these these heroes that are worth like ten men in battle coming in to save the day because of their...

...expertise with the with the Arcane Blade, and that really presents itself in the Blade Master, which I feel is maybe kind of leans itself towards somebody who does want to focus more on the melee and less on the spellcasting, versus the elementalist, which almost does the reverse. So they're kind of two sides of the same class coin there. I'm excited to see what people do with the necro blade because the necro blade kind of has that almost that Ronan feel to me, that Samurai without a master like this, this individual who's turned their back on their past and is striking out on their own and delving into things that were maybe forbidden to them in the time, that dark strength exactly. I'm really excited to see how that might play and we'll continue to play test this and some of our games now that it is under the official Royal City Society umbrella. But, Bradley, have the just Pique my interest here,...

...but have there been any other subclasses that you have planned for this Arcane Blade class, anything else that you want to explore, or are you pursuing other projects for a little bit now? I'm sure there are a lot of things that you can do with it, but right now I don't have any ideas going forward. or I mean it takes a long time to develop a full class and I think I was watching guys work away at it and tip way at the find details of it, and it's fun, it's it's cool to see you guys come up with a full new way to play this game really because, like a lot of a lot of content is subclasses. But this, I think, opens up for other people at Royal City Society to work on different subclasses for even this as well. Well. When did we...

...start this class, Bradley? Was it like back in November or something was done the guy? Yeah, yeah, we've been shipped anyway at it for a while, and rightfully so. Right like, it takes a long time to not only like finalize what you want, for at the kind of flavor and but then, top that you need to play tests and whatnot, and that that's where this class, I think, is headed now, is more on to the finding out what is balanced or not, and I think that we love to hear from any of our viewers that decide to drive this out. And Yeah, that's some ideas about what works, what doesn't and what might be able to be improved. All feedback is appreciated. Everybody here at Royal Sisus City Society is super excited to keep creating content for you guys, but we know that the faster that the content is produced, the less we actually get to play test it. So any, any feedback is greatly appreciated from you guys, but I think that the that pretty much covers the class...

...as a whole. We'd love for you guys to go try it out and let us know what you think. Make sure you go to our instagram page at Royal City Society and catch you guys on the next little bonus action and are regularly scheduled podcast that you're definitely tuning into right right and I'd like to thank Bradley, on behalf of a Royal City Society, for developing this class alongside us. We hope that we can do more work with you in the future.
