ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Jordan did a thing! Join Braeden and guest host Matt as they ask Jordan about the Path of Destruction barbarian, the newest subclass release from the Royal City Society available now on DM's Guild.

Ladies Gentlemen and Non Binary FriendsWelcome back to another triple of entge bonus action as always for tripleadvantage. I am your host braiden. This is normally where I'd introduce mycohost Carlos Carlos, is not here at the moment. Instead, I have a brand newguess: Co Host, you may know him as the author of such roral State Societymodules as the ECOLLEGN enchantment Bard and the elragon patron. I know himas an amazing DM, a hell of a drummer and ill Lov all around Nice Guy, notthink o you ee back to the show. Thank you hasn't been it's good. I M glad tobe here. We God glad to have you back. This is also normally where I wouldintroduce our other co hosts Jordan, a yeah we've done a bit of a weirdswitcherout Jordan. You are currently in the hot seat for tonight, because Idon't know I now we always sai to be in the Hussey, but you are the author ofthe newest Royal City. Society module the path of the destruction barbarianavailable now on DM's guild. Why don't...

...you tell us a little bit about this?Sup last that you got going on here, Jordan, all right. Well, this subclassis for the barbarian class and it is goingto be all about just absolutely destroying things. Man Like I'm talking buildings, I'm talkingwalls, I'm talking you know creatures, it's going to be great yeah. I'm superlooking forward to actually like getting some play testing out on thiskind of thing and just seeing if it lives up to my hopefulexpectations. Well, also, not you know totally breaking the game right. So what to shout talk a littlebit about your inspiration, Jordan, for Cong up with Su class sure, so I guess, as I've been like lookingthrough different barbarian classes and stuff, like that, a lot of them have todo with the rage ability, I guess specifically, which increases the amount of damage...

...that you can take, and that is awesome, and I love that aboutthe barbarian class. But I always wanted to see what would happen if thebarbarian went kind of like full tilt. Let's take on. You know the world kindof thing I love like seeing like, I guess,Juggor not from like x, men and stuff like that. Like is like just fantastic. He just he charges through things and he does not stop for anything likethat's kind of his thing right and I just wanted to see if I couldkind of like transfer that over into dndd, that's a that's an interestingcomparison and I'm curious. I had another question lined up, but I kindof want to ask this. First now the the general, the general build for barbariis the waya lot of people build them is generally maximizing strengthand on obviously-and that's usually at the strength of the intelligence Stut or at the at thecost of the intelligence staft. I should say for sure a lot of peopletend to play theorbarians as relatively...

...low ined, comparatively to otherclasses, but a character like Joger naut tos. Yourinspiration isn't necessarily a dumb character. No isn't necessarily thereas a lot of these characters. That you'e mentioned pok being a clearexample, but they're not always mindless brutes theroften times yeah. They well thought out, so I'm wondering if you've, given any thought to with theBurbarian, maybe being played especially having having read throughthe the subclast more than a few times aswe yeah. We worked on this, I'm wondering if there's a bit more underthe hood to this one than just straight up, mindless destruction for sure, sothat's kind of where I went with, I think the armor breaker ability, whichis the tenth level ability. So this is the part where the barbarian starts toyou know almost you could play it as...

...systematically like tearing apart anenemy. You know you start to wear it down and strike it critical parts of aparticular creature at the third level. The third level ability also kind of build into that idea as well, where youaim for critical pieces of a character, I guess, or creature, or thecritical pieces of a structure. So if you're looking at a building you'relike okay, if I want to take it down, I need to knock down this pillar thispillar and this pillar. You can go and do that kind of thing. So you coulddefinitely play it off as like a bit more of a like, smarter, tougher guyfor sure, and I would actually be really interested to see someone kindof pull that off in A. I think it could lead to some really interestingsituations. Would it be? Would it be safe to saythat that's your favorite favoritability Iyou know? I actually think that...

...trample would be my favorite ability. The armor breaker is really cool and could be very effective for taking on an enemy. That's extremely strong. The TRAMPL is the fourteenthavelability though, and it just I love that you can just charge through anarea and just like swipe through everything. I love the idea behind it.Where you can charge in a straight line break through you know a wall and justlike surprise, some people and just smash through whatever enemies may liein your path. Kind of thing I think, can it would just be really cool tohave that option. I guess available to you and tojust have it as something that's and an I built in part of the game. So that's probably my favorite ability, although yeah it works. I really wellagain, I think, with the third ability,...

...so third level yeah but armor breakers, a very closesecond, I would say so: Yeah Yeah, I really like the theobviously the mccanspon, the put also the flavor to of this this a broup thatcan absolutely just charge through things, and at least you know, everylittle once in a while can like hit everything on his path of destruction, just hand the thename, I guess Yeah Wel lookathats right there, so jon, weI mean, like all barbarians, really like thrive on this kind of you knowgetting stuck into the middle of a fight and just tearing things up whatmakes this subclass unique in that sense like. Why? Should people pickthis up and what's different about these types of Arary? So the main, likebig thing here, I think, is the third level ability that ability which iswhich is called destructive swing, is going to play into that characterthroughout your like experience with it...

...and it just it can I guess it could be gamebreaking, I'mreally not sure. I'm a little bit worried, but I'm also like a you knowwhat it'll be fun. So, let's do it, so it is a an ability that is going to definitely play into any scenario whereyour character is coming through and as soon as you hit ninth level, it's goingto start smacking like it will. It will start to have your barbarian, kill andbreak things a lot more often than a normal barbarian. Would it could also lead to a few awesomemoments where you're just going to absolutely miss and fail, and I thinkthose can be equally as fun, so I'm really looking forward to trying it outsometime, definitely definitely AH, like I likeit, because you know overbrians get reckless attacke. They can kind ofchoose to take that risk. This. This...

...path, specifically kind of leans intomore of that yeah no go iver go hom, be a risk foward y yeah. I think eitherway. I agree either you're going to hit it a massive swingiss going to feelamazing or you're going to miss gloriously and sevady. Mor Elli have yet to try it out, but I'mvery excited to. I know Carlos couldn't be here tonight, but he was sure totell me to pass on that. This is best enjoyed being played if you're alsolistening to them biscuits break stuff in the background something keepinin listeners, dos' Genyeah just hsgod ue, but that is all the time wehave for today, mostly because our recording bots been kind of sellslightly, and we just don't know when it's going to stop recording so we'regeing to keep it short and sweet for those of you out there that arelistening. The path of destruction. Barbarian is available right now on DMskiled for pay, which you can you can find it by searching either Jordan,VANIRCO's name or by searching World...
